ASTM A106 Grade B

ASTM A106 is a standard specification which covers seamless carbon steel based ASTM A106 Grade B Pipe. These Carbon Steel Pipe ASTM A106 Gr.b has been known to be well suited for use in high temperature service. Most common uses of the pipes produced in ASTM A106 Gr.B Material are in refineries and plants. In these plants, various media such as gasses or fluids are transported at high temperatures and pressures. Hence the need for sturdy, heat resistant and corrosion resistant pipes, like those produced from ASTM specified A106 Grade B carbon steel are in high demand from our clients involved in these industries.

Additionally, unscheduled wall thicknesses of the A106 Carbon Steel Pipe are available in our stock up to 4 inches. The SA 106 Gr B ERW Pipe which has any other dimensions could be furnished by us, on condition that such a pipe is able to comply with the requirements of this specification.  Pipe ordered under the A106 Grade B specification tend to be well suited for forming operations such as bending, flanging, welding, as well as for other similar forming operations. The A106 Gr B Galvanized Pipe offers better resistance to corrosion, since the steel pipe has been coated with a thicker layer of zinc, which in turn acts as a protective layer on the pipes.
