Magnetic Sheet Separator

Application

Magnetic sheet separators (sheet fanner magnets) separate sticky or oiled steel sheets and prevent two sheets from being picked up at the same time. This ensures that the production process proceeds smoothly. The permanent magnetic force remains constant throughout the years. Moreover, an expensive compressed air system is no longer needed for ‘blasting’ the steel sheets apart; sheet separators perform this task quicker and much less expensively.

For picking up steel sheets one at a time in the sheet-processing industry (e.g. automotive or steel industry).Suitable for separating ferromagnetic sheets up to 4 mm thick, of nearly any shape, length or width; even round and asymmetrical shapes.

Pneumatically switched sheet separators are designed for automatic processes.

Operation

A powerful magnetic field automatically forces sheets apart and separates them; when the uppermost sheet is removed, the next rises immediately.

Installation examples

The arrows on the photo indicate the recommended direction of transport in which the plates can best be carried off after separation. To prevent malfunctions in fully automated production processes we recommend the use of a number of extra sheet separators.

For optimum results it is best to place two sheet separators at the corner(s) of large stacks of steel sheets.

Sheet separators placed across from each other ensure that the sheets do not begin to ‘float’.

For small sheets it is best to place the sheet separator in the middle of the shortest side.
