It is stabilized with columbium and due to its good resistance to intergranular attack it is preferable for aqueous and low temperature environments.AISI 347 plate has good resistance to polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking, encountered in oil refineries. Its high temperature oxidation resistance is similar to that of aisi 304 plate. 347h stainless steel sheets can be welded by resistance and fusion methods. It’s forging, upsetting and other hot work processes can be performed at 1149 - 1232°C. ASTM A240 Type 347 coil has good creep strength up to 1500°F. It provides good corrosion resistance in applications where the temperature is range is 2100°F to 2250°F. And it has to be annealed and water quenched to obtain its maximum hardness. ASTM A240 Gr 347 strips are useful in applications such as airplane exhaust stacks, jet engine parts, tubing, annealing box covers, etc. SA240 Type 347 perforated sheet is made through the method of “die and punch” perforating. A sheet with needles is continuously pressed onto the passing sheet which punches holes into the sheet. From the punching the remaining pieces are sheared off and the surface gets smoothed.
